The IFK, one of the world’s largest scientific conferences on fluid power, unites scientists with industry in an international forum to exchange knowledge in the area of hydraulic and pneumatic drives and control systems. The ninth edition of this successful conference took place in Aachen from 24 - 26 March 2014.
The Institute for Fluid Power Drives and Controls
(IFAS) at RWTH Aachen University and the Institute of Fluid Power (IFD)
at TU Dresden alternately organise the conference every two years.
For the conference a multiplicity of interesting technical and scientific papers from Companies and Universities from 25 countries were reviewed and selected to guarantee a wide and interesting conference programm. Also the paper from Hauhinco
has been assessed by the committee and selected for this years
conference. With more than 700 participants the conference once again
has been a great success.
Ralf Bukowsky, Technical Director of Hauhinco, held a presentation on the Modernisation-Project of the 50.000t Press at Alcoa in Cleveland, USA. The presentation showed the possibilities of modern water hydraulic press controls, the condition and functions of the press before the modernisation as well as the technical challenges and the implementation of the renewed press with the extended functions after the modernisation.
The conference was accompanied by a trade show for suppliers as well as hydraulic, pneumatic and control system manufacturers. This show and also the conference itself have been an ideal platform for further discussions on the presentations and other topics.
